New Horizons has been providing a professional counselling service in the Holdfast Bay area and have been in their current premises for one year. 

Located in Seacliff, just a short drive from Adelaide, South Australia, New Horizons is open for business by appointment only.

New Horizons provides the Holdfast Bay area professional caring help in a safe non-judgemental environment. The two councellers are fully qualified in both psycho therapy, hypno therapy and specialise in relationship counselling.

They also offer counselling in these following areas:

• self esteem,
• self image,
• anger management,
• weight loss
• children: sleeping - bedwetting

What is Counselling

The I.C.H.P counselors recommend what is often refferred to as a person-centred approach.  Change will occur automatically if a counsellor is able to establish a relationship with the client which the latter perceives as characterised by genuiness, acceptance, unconditional regard, and accurate empathic understanding.

In the safety of such a relationship clients will often find themselves able to drop their rigid defences and social masks and be set free to self-explore, to express emotions and as a result integrate what has previously been denied or distorted, growing from the experience.

It is a focus on the person NOT the person's problem!

Counselling can help in understanding emotions and their causes. It helps clients to overcome negativity through "though stopping" exercises. The aim is to empower our clients.
