City of Holdfast Bay

The City of Holdfast bay supports:

• Public Health Services
• Environmental Health Services
• Community Transport
• Libraries
• Education & Child Care Services
• Aged Care Services
• LifeLinks
• Volunteers

LifeLinks is a project that assists men and women living in Supported Residential Facilities to participate in their wider community in ways they desire, with the support of volunteers.

This enables them to:

• Extend their social networks and supports.
• Link into socially and culturally appropriate recreational and social groups and/or to pursue their individual social interests.

LifeLinks is a collaborative project with the Cities of Unley, Mitcham, Marion and Holdfast Bay. Funding was achieved in 2003 through Home and Community Care under the auspice of the City of Unley.

The model encourages the uniqueness and social development of each person who choses to participate. It addresses the barriers that can occur due to poverty, mental illness, disability and reduced social supports and limited independent living skills by problem solving.
